MARYAN SHVED will join his new Celtic teammates in preseason training shortly and the attacking midfielder will be available from the off with regards to European qualifiers but according to reports online the player will be suspended for the first game of the SPFL season.

Shved was sent off in his final game in Ukraine and his registration carries a suspension. According to SunSport when the SFA ratify the deal this summer, the suspension is able to carry over to the SPFL.

We have contacted the SFA to ask for clarity on this ruling and if Maryan’s suspension will be upheld. If he does sit it out, the winger will have to watch from the stands as Celtic unfurl the league flag and get their campaign underway.

The bhoys will be looking to lay down a marker when they get back to domestic business.

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding Celtic’s new Ukranian winger and the suspension does stick then he’ll be raring to go after the opening day.
