Celtic target and Peterborough striker Ivan Toney finally looks set to be on the move, with Brentford having an offer of £10 million accepted today.

According to Sky Sports, after weeks of rumours, the English Championship club finally look set to get their man.

Neil Lennon was thought to have been fond of the 24-year old striker who also has links to current Celtic first-team coach, Gavin Strachan as they spent time together with Peterborough, when Strachan was part of the coaching staff there.

After weeks of talks and interest it does look to finally be settled. It did look as though Toney was set to wait out for a move to the Premier League or one which plays European Football but now he looks set to be the long-term replacement for highly rated striker, Ollie Watkins.

The Hoops were likely priced out of a move as ‘Posh’ demanded a fee upwards of £9 million, which would of course break the clubs transfer record.

It appears Neil Lennon does have his number one striking target in the door though, stating that man was Albian Ajeti.
