Celtic were the victims of their downfall against Kilmarnock on Saturday according to manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Hoops were 1-0 up going into the latter stages. Although Killie didn’t look overly likely to score, there was an inherent fear within the ground that they could and in the dying embers, fate would have it that David Watson made it 1-1.

Two crucial Scottish Premiership points were dropped by The Bhoys. On Sunday, their failure to win proved costly as they moved down to second in the table.

The title appears to be slipping away from the Celts week-by-week. They were on a run of eight wins in nine going into the weekend, but performances hadn’t been great.

Celtic were scraping through a lot of games by the skin of their teeth, and it caught up with them against Killie.

Indeed in the match, gaffer Rodgers thinks his team manufactured their own downfall. CeltsAreHere spoke to the boss post-match on Saturday: “It’s not about ability now or technique or tactics it’s about mentality”, he said.

“We seen it in the second half, even though we weren’t under great pressure, we made it difficult for ourselves, building the game, structurally, it was a simple game really to play through and get through but somehow we found a way to complicate it.”

  1. Rodgers playing style goes against the whole team.
I wanted him gone with the same boring negative style when he was 1st at Celtic.
The team will instantly improve by getting shot of Rodgers.
He has destroyed a good team.
His style is the equivalent of putting sand in an engine instead of oil.
    Rodgers must go.
    Laptop lackies with him.
The board also, Lawell in particular.
DD and his son have to see the damage that’s being done to the club.

    • More bullshit from Rodgers yet again.
Now throwing the player’s under the bus for his own failings?
This is a recurring theme within his Celtic team of being absolutely shite in 2nd half of games?
Been nothing but embarrassing with the performances since the winter break, not as if they were to great before it either?
So how was the winter break spent, to return so poorly?
What is Rodgers saying at h/t in games, to come out and be so shockingly bad in the 2nd half, on numerous occasions to date this season?
Sounding lennonisque these days with the blaming of everyone else for the shitshow on view out on the pitch imo?
