Celtic Women bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to Glasgow City, defeating Edinburgh side Hearts 3-0 at K Park this afternoon.

It took until just under the hour mark for the Hoops to get going and take the lead through Rachel Donaldson who was found from a cross by one of the women’s sides latest recruits Jacynta Galabadaarachchi.

With 15 minutes from 10, Sarah Ewens grabbed her first goal of the game to double the lead for Fran Alonso’s side.

The former Hibee then scored her second of the game with four minutes of regular time remaining to make sure the three points would be coming home to Celtic.

That victory leaves the Hoops on 19 points from nine games in third place, just outside the Champions League places which Glasgow City and Rangers women occupy at this stage.

They still have a bit of catching up to do with City defeating Forfar Farmington 7-0 earlier in the day to keep their five-point gap ahead of Celtic with Rangers currently playing against Spartans to see if they can do the same.

Hopefully, this victory can start to build some momentum as we look to make those European places.
