Celtic Women won big on Sunday afternoon against Hamilton. It was a third victory on the trot for Fran Alonso’s side.

Away at the Accies, the Ghirls ran riot, coming away deserved 5-0 winners. Caitlin Hayes opened the scoring early on before Amy Gallagher made it two on the 34th minute.

Chloe Craig’s spot-kick made it three early in the second 45. Ime Addi then got the fourth just after the hour mark, and the scoring was rounded off by Celya Barclais.

With the three points and five goals, Celtic Women still sit in second place in the SWPL, a solitary point behind Rangers. The title race is already nail-bitingly close.

It will be a close between now and the end of the season for who takes home the league title with there, as is always the case, being three top sides tussling for it.

The Celts do have the opportunity to win silverware elsewhere, namely in the Sky Sports League Cup where they will play Rangers in the semi-finals at the end of January.

That match is far in the distance, though, and Alonso will want his players focused on the present going into two home league games in a row against Aberdeen and The Spartans.
