ST JOHNSTONE found themselves leading The Rangers 2-0 until a Tavinier strike pulled the Ibrox club back into the match.

The Perthshire side was giving the opposition’s defence some problems, especially when Gio rolled the dice and brought Morelos on at the expense of his back four.

The Celtic loanee Adam Montgomery started on the left of St Johnstone’s back five and was pretty solid throughout the match, winning seven ground duels.

The loss means that Celtic finish the weekend seven points clear, a great lead to hold over our rivals in November. It gives the defending champions some breathing space at the top of the league; however, Ange will demand that his side continue their terrific run of results.

The only time that Celtic have dropped points in the league was in Paisley when St Mirren stunned the Hoops.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Ibrox board react to this result, with Gio’s future uncertain after a really poor start to the season, domestically and in Europe.

  1. St Johnstone looked the better team organisationally and looked to be almost walking through the opposition backline at times; Stevie May was excellent
