Celtic’s links to the City Football Group appear to have drawn closer as Ange Postecoglou is set to have his brains ‘picked’ after his fellow countryman joined Ligue 1 side ES Troyes AC [Daily Record].

The move to bring Ange Postecoglou to Celtic had links to the City Football Group with the former Socceroos boss having been at Yokohama F. Marinos who are one of the 11 teams owned by the firm.

At Celtic, he is also now joined by Mark Lawwell who also had a long association with the group with his expertise being a great addition to the recruitment team at Celtic Park.

Over the years there have also been a number of players who have made the switch from  the English champions to Glasgow with the likes of John Guidetti, Jason Denayer and Jeremie Frimpong joining the Hoops from City.

The links looks as though they are now about to draw even closer after the appointment of Patrick Kinsorbo as boss of ES Troyes AC who are also a member team of the City Football Group.

Kinsorbo who was previously in charge of Melbourne City will look for advice off Postecoglou with this being his first job in European football.

Postecoglou has continued to make strides for Australian football having become the first Aussie to manage in the Champions League this season.

  1. Not one ounce of sense does this article make.

“…. .. . Celtic’s links to the City Football Group appear to have drawn closer as Ange Postecoglou is set to have his brains ‘picked’ after his fellow countryman joined Ligue 1 side ES Troyes….. . . .”

Speaking to someone now is confirmation of “links” “drawing closer”

    Jesus wept.
