The news of Olivier Ntcham’s struggles in France means the midfielder is almost certain to return to Celtic Park in the summer.

RecordSport report Marseille are already looking at other options come the summer while sending the Celtic player back to Glasgow.

Ntcham’s fall from grace continues.

Since the Frenchman’s goal in Rome against Lazio, he’s found game time and any sort of form hard to come by.

Many supporters have felt for some time now that Olivier was looking for a route out of Celtic Park and that was at the heart of his lack of game time.

While Brendan Rodgers was still the manager, Oli played his best football for the club, so much so he was on the receiving end of a €15m bid from Porto [GetFranceFootball].

The Portuguese giants were knocked back in the end and Ntcham stayed. That summer, Oli took part in an interview back in France talking about how the SPFL was underwhelming and he would like a move. The player STILL stayed after that and it wasn’t until things unravelled this season he got a move to Marseille, but only on loan.

His first option fee in his Marseille loan deal was reportedly less than £5m but that doesn’t look like it will be taken up.

Celtic look like they’re about to have a returning player low on confidence with no meaningful sell on value. The only positive is if Celtic took the €15m back when Rodgers was in charge, we would never have got that moment in Rome.
