Daniel Arzani got his Celtic career underway on Monday when the Australian was given the nod to start in the bhoys reserve league match against Hamilton.

The winger played a solid 60 minutes in the tie where Celtic fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of their Hamilton counterparts.

Arzani has been brought in for the first team but his fitness isn’t anywhere near where Rodgers wants it to be as of yet.

The player has had no game time since the World Cup and even last season, the player rarely played a full 90 minutes for Melbourne in his 15 starts.

Arzani will continue his work in the reserve league until he has built up his fitness and is ready to go. The Celtic manager will not rush the attacking midfielder’s progress and will be patient to make sure he has the best chance of succeeding.

Daniel is on a two-year loan deal from Manchester City and the club have an option to buy him at the end of the agreement.
