The international break is upon us which means it is a while until Celtic gets back in action. That cannot stop us from overlooking the crucial week the Bhoys have after they play for their countries, though.

A week on Sunday, the champions travel to Tynecastle to take on Hearts at 2.15 pm. As ever, it will be an arduous test for the Hoops in Gorgie and just three days after it, they welcome Atletico Madrid to Paradise.

Against the Spaniards, Brendan Rodgers’ men really must get back on track in the Champions League. Zero points have been taken from matches versus Feyenoord and Lazio.

In order to keep their European dreams alive, the Hoops need a result when they take on Diego Simeone’s side. Then just three days after facing off against the La Liga team, a trip to the capital beckons again.

On Saturday the 28th of October at 3 pm, Hibernian lie in wait for Celtic who by that point will be playing their third game in under a week.

It is fair to say the champions need results in each of their next three games. Actually getting them will be no mean feat, although Rodgers’ squad is more than capable.

Everyone must be sharp and ready when returning from international duty in order to ensure the Celts hit the ground running and pick up from where they left off versus Kilmarnock.
