ST MIRREN has confirmed they have received positive results after completing routine testing.

Having suspended training, The Paisley side is set to host Celtic next Wednesday. This game is said to go ahead as planned and is not in doubt in accordance with the club’s statement.

This is now the second club to face a COVID outbreak in the past week in Scotland’s top flight. Dundee United also are facing problems, like St Mirren, their games are going ahead too.

Douth of the border we have seen the midweek matches heavily impacted with positive results being returned, many games were called off with games this weekend off as well.

It is a worrying time for football fans, between the fear of having to watch our teams from our sofa to watch our teams play with several stars missing. Action must be taken to protect players, with an early winter break certainly an option to be explored.
