CELTIC’S title win has saved Cinch’s sponsorship of the SPFL, according to The Times.

The deal, which in all honesty wasn’t the best, was put into jeopardy after The Rangers’ pettiness. The Ibrox club stated that displaying the logo was a conflict of interest for Douglas Park and his business.

The club then didn’t display cinch in their stadium, on their kits and, most recently, refusing to show the cinch advertisement when participating in post-match interviews, taping the branding of cinch on the advertisement boards behind.

When Celtic won the league at Tannadice, the cinch logo was visible on the boarding.

It was a similar story at Celtic Park on Trophy Day, with the podium branded with cinch, as well as the trophy.

It’s petty from the Ibrox club, but we’ve come to expect this.

A Hampden source said;

“I know there had been growing dissatisfaction from cinch about Rangers’ lack of co-operation. Had they become champions again and continued to ignore the sponsors, that could have become a stress point.

“With Celtic clinching the title at Tannadice, though, cinch would have noticed the great publicity they received and they’ll have benefited from at least as much publicity following the trophy presentation at Celtic Park on Saturday.

“That should show the sponsors there is value to be had from the current contract.”

Had The Rangers won the league, it would have been interesting to see what happened. It wouldn’t have been likely that Ibrox would be covered in cinch advertisements. In all likelihood, the company would’ve probably pulled the plug.

However, that’s all ifs and buts because Celtic are the champions of Scotland.
