David Luiz has downed tools and refused to train with Chelsea’s first-team as he looks to push through a move to London rivals Arsenal.

What does that mean for Celtic? Well if early reports on the Arsenal summer budget are true it might end the Londoner’s pursuit of Kieran Tierney even though Luiz plays centre back.

In his second spell at Stamford Bridge, the defender has made another 105 appearances for the club. It is bizarre that he is pushing a move to a rival club in the same city but his place at Chelsea is gone if reports are true that he refused to take part in the training.

Celtic fans are bracing themselves for a third bid coming in from Arsenal for Celtic favourite Kieran Tierney. If Luiz gets his own way he would demand a huge wage and hopefully, Arsenal is running out of funds.

Celtic are playing tonight in Romania against Cluj as they look to qualify for the Champions League proper. Kick-off is at 7 pm.

  1. Arsenal have removed £600k p/w off their wage bill this summer. Don’t think wages would be a problem. Also, they might be selling Iwobi for up to £40mill.
