Former Celtic defender Christopher Jullien is already facing an injury issue just over a week after joining Montpellier.

The 29-year old made the move to France having only played one competitive game for Celtic against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup with the player admitting how disappointed he was with the way his career in Glasgow ended.

His career had to progress with it being made clear to the former Toulouse man there was no future for him at Celtic Park with there being at least four defenders in front of him.

Life back in Ligue 1 got off to a great start for Jullien with his Montpellier side thrashing his former Celtic teammate Karamoko Dembele’s Brest 7-0 with the French defender making his debut at the back.

However, Jullien has already been left out the squad for Montpellier’s home match against Ajaacio with it appearing that the defender has a thigh injury.

“Christopher Jullien is being assessed at the moment,” said Olivier Dall’Oglio speaking in the Scottish Sun.

“As there are a lot of games currently, you have to be careful and we will look at his scans before seeing when he can return to the team.”

He will have hoped that the move away from Celtic Park would have brought him some gametime but he is yet to succeed.

It is hoped that leaving him out the side was only done on a precautionary basis.

Jullien needs game time and hopefully he will be back playing as soon as possible.
