CHRIS SUTTON has branded Albian Ajeti a cheat by confirming he thinks the Swiss player dived against Kilmarnock in order to win a penalty.

The SFA have charged the Celtic striker but the club are contesting it. Neil Lennon confirmed to day the club are baffled by the decision to charge the player in the first place.

Speaking on BT Sport Xtra, Chris said he believes it was a dive but Celtic will put the pressure on the SFA and get away with it.

As far as Chris is concerned, anyone caught diving during a game should be dealt with in a serious manner to deter footballers.

The Bhoys frontman is free to play against Motherwell on Saturday, his hearing set for Tuesday where the club will make their case.

It’s a soft penalty but can they conclusively prove Ajeti has dived? It will be very difficult for the SFA to do so.

  1. When a player is running at speed it does not take a lot of contact for him to lose his balance and tumble, it is the law of physics. In such circumstances going down does not constitute a dive and nether does it mean a penalty shoud be awarded. However if a penalty is wrongly given that is not the fault of the player concerned. In this case the penalty was correctly awarded.

  2. He does have a point, but why all of a sudden should Celtic be picked out after years and years of such examples in the game to be singled out?
There was contact, the player made the most of it, no Doubt whatsoever, but now, this season, Celtic are on the receiving end of blunt, of the heel, so called justice!
    Were exactly does it end?
The Bolingoli fiasco, when the club had no part in an individuals private life?
    Punished?!
Dubai, totally sanctioned by the Scottish Government, for what it is?
    Punished?!
Our players are being FORCED to seek pastures new for protection on the field of play, while the southside mob live up to their hunnish name stamping and scything all before them!
You wonder why it’s hard to motivate players!
You wonder why players have given up?
You wonder why young players with a future ahead of them want to get?
What worries me is when the Celtic support is getting behind a soup taker like walker because he’s jumped on the anti Lennon bandwagon, yet only days ago he was howling at the moon about a goal against us that even when he realised wasn’t in said ‘yeah at that angle it’s hard to tell’!!!!

We were screwed from day one Bhoys.
Neil Lennon might not be the best manager, but anyone who thinks Gerrard is a better manager is truly deluded.

  3. Sorry, maybe a bit over doing it here, but, when it came down to the Scottish international sittuation, Armstrong was supposed to be the guy who tested positive and KT and Christie as close contacts.
Yet Armstrong (the one who tested positive) and KT played their respective next club games, the only player coming back from international duty for their country who couldn’t play his next club game (for Celtic) was Christie.
Make of that what you will, it all adds up over the season.
