CELTIC will be undergoing a major revamp this summer.

There are players at the club who are desperate to move on come June and they will need to be replaced. It’s easy to focus on the Eddie’s and Ajer’s who are most likely gone when the window opens. They certainly need to be replaced, but we must keep an eye on players who aren’t in our thinking when it comes to the summer.

We assume Christopher Jullien isn’t a player agitating for a move and we have no evidence to suggest otherwise. The Frenchman could be pivotal and be the connection between the players who stay and the new ones who come in.

When you look at our defence: Jonjoe Kenny and Diego Laxalt will both go back to their parent clubs in the summer along with Shane Duffy. Ajer is in the last year of his deal come the summer and wants to make a move. Elhamed is homesick and will also look to move. This leaves Christopher Jullien, Stephen Welsh Nir Bitton and Greg Taylor.

When recruiting, the question should be, who can we get in to compliment Christopher Jullien. If the player ends up leaving this summer, it means an entire defence has been gutted and a new one has to take its place; some fans might like that idea but Jullien is a leader on the park and can help new bhoys bed in.

Too many changes can have a detrimental effect on the team and make our recovery much more slow and painful.

If there’s one player we need to keep at Celtic this summer of the guys who could realistically leave, I’d argue that’s Christopher Jullien. I’d say Edouard if there was a hope in hell of the Frenchman signing a new deal, which there isn’t. I’m also taking Callum McGregor’s loyalty for granted as I write this.

Christopher can be a dressing room leader and we should make sure he’s happy going forward.
