Celtic suffered their first league defeat of the campaign at the hands of Kilmarnock this afternoon. The Hoops were beaten by two goals to one in Ayrshire in the Sunday rain.

Particularly in the second half, the champions did not in any way live up to the expectations of the supporters. Post-match, Chris Sutton came out with a damning verdict. He said (X): “That second-half performance was one of the worst I’ve seen from a Celtic team. You can be outplayed but you can’t be outfought and outrun.”

Few can argue with the former Celtic striker. If Hoops fans thought the first-half in Perth was bad last week, their team’s performance in the second forty-five was even worse today.

Things need to get better quickly. There are huge concerns surrounding the team at the minute, which is not what is needed building up to a crucial Glasgow derby in a few weeks.

  1. No one, not even Chris Sutton, seems to understand or care about the horrendous significance of CalMac wearing that rainbow armband before kick off. That loss today, in my estimation, is the justice of God on a club, a team and a support largely supportive of today’s public repudiation of the moral law. “Stonewall”, the organisation behind the rainbow armband display, has the innocence of children as its target and no one appears to realise or care. I cannot sufficiently express my shock that Celtic allied itself with such an organisation. I fear Celtic’s fortunes will decline rapidly on the back of this. God is not mocked!
