CHRIS SUTTON has taken a massive dig at former Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers after his Leicester side capitulated in spectacular style after the shutdown.

The Irishman famously left Celtic high and dry during their season to take on the Leicester job, Rodgers citing at the time he took on the role then to ready the Foxes for the following term.

The season is now over and after a very good start, the club fell away big time. Once leading Manchester Utd by 14 points in January, today they fell to a 2-0 defeat as the Old Trafford side clinched their place in the Champions League.

Chris Sutton has never been a big fan of Rodgers decision to leave the club for Leicester and he couldn’t help but stick in the boot not long after the full-time whistle.

Celtic have moved on since the days of Rodgers and are about to enter their ten in a row season. Neil Lennon steadied the ship then sparked Celtic back into life last season to make it nine in a row.

  1. Had Rodgers stayed, Celtic would NOT have won the 8th title in the sequence. The first signs of a breakdown in relations with the club and players ensured that. NFL brought back the atmosphere and tactics needed to ensure the title and treble. Neil is a much better manager.
