Celtic defender Greg Taylor has been handed a contract extension that will see him remain with the club until the summer of 2025.

The left-back joined the Hoops from fellow Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock in 2019 and has since gone on to make over 50 appearances in that period of time.
Recent reports suggested that Taylor was in talks for a new deal, and the club announced the news this afternoon. Ange Postecoglou reacted to the news, saying:
“I am delighted that Greg has extended his contract with the Club. He has had an excellent start to the season and has made a really valuable contribution to the team.
“Unfortunately, he has suffered the injury in recent weeks, but our focus and his is now to get him back in the squad as soon as possible, have him pick up where he left off and playing at that same high level.
“I am really pleased he has committed his future to Celtic, and I am sure he will be an important player for us over the next few years.”
The 24-year old started the season off as a regular in Postecoglou’s Celtic side but has faced a spell on the sidelines after picking up a shoulder injury, which he had to have surgery on and will likely keep him out until next year.
However, Ange appears to have shown great faith in the Scotland internationalist by handing him a new deal that will secure his future with the club for the next few years.
Ange and those working behind the scenes appear to be looking to tie players up on fresh terms, with the likes of Callum McGregor and Anthony Ralston also recently signing new deals to remain at the Hoops.
I hope he is cleaning boots or cutting the grass cause he ain’t a football player.
A very underrated footballer, some Celtic supporters haven’t a clue. They are not supporters of the team I come from a generation who encouraged young footballers. and supported the team through good times and bad. Most of the Lisbon Lions would have been hounded out the club by this type of fan. Most of them had a number of years of failure but showed lots of promise which blossomed into the greatest successful era in the clubs history. I know we live in different times but being over critical of players was never the way to build a good football team.
If, as you say, the Lisbon Lions showed promise despite poor form as youngsters then thats more than Taylor has ever shown.
For the life of me, I can’t see any reason to offer him a new contract.
