CELTIC have a new head of Multimedia going into next season after longtime Celtic servant Kerry Keenan stepped down from her post at the end of last season. Marketing man, Kevin McQuillan returns to the club after originally being part of the commercial team between 2012-2016.
During her time, Kerry was tasked with running so many things at the club – everything from club announcements and logistics to the Christmas ad! That particular role at Celtic encompasses so many things and does shape how the club present themselves on social media and to the wider public.
Kerry was also a proponent of Celtic fan media and did a lot to help CeltsAreHere.com and other fan media outlets while in the role.
Kevin will now take on the club’s public image and shape new initiatives going forward. It’s a big role that certainly needs someone with a Celtic mindset to execute.
Writing on his LinkedIn on Sunday evening, Kevin Wrote:
‘Delighted and no less proud to share that I’ll be returning to the magnificent commercial team at Celtic Football Club in two weeks time.
‘I’m humbled to get the opportunity to lead the hugely talented Marketing & Multimedia team and can’t wait get started afresh with colleagues old and new at Celtic Park.
‘As I enter my final full week, my thanks to all at DC Thomson for their support over the last two and a half years and I wish everyone well as the company embarks on a brave new era.
‘For me, it’s back to my first love, football. Looking forward to big challenges and exciting times in the years ahead with the SPFL Premiership Champions.’
Celtic has made in-roads when it comes to their marketing in recent years. However – there’s still more that can be done. You get the feeling the hierarchy at the club shackle the department at times.
It’s another change behind the scenes as we gear up for a big season where Celtic will be playing in the Champions League. We’re all looking forward to it and hoping the bhoys can have another successful campaign.
