It has been confirmed today Mikey Johnstone will miss the next 4-6 weeks of action with a calf injury.

The Celtic youngster can’t catch a break with injuries, he missed most of last season being out on the sidelines.

Now, with the game about to start back up again, Mikey finds himself on the outside looking in. This season is massive for the winger, he must prove once he’s fit and ready to go that he belongs in this Celtic team. However, any injuries after this current calf problem could see the support and management lose hope in the youngster.

Mikey is a top talent and the type of player who can get bums off seats, but that won’t matter if he’s never fit long enough to make an impact. We hope he comes through his latest comeback unscathed and by the end of September he can positively contribute to the team. With so many fixtures and no winter break, we need out whole squad.
