Celtic will be seeking revenge today when Hearts visit Paradise in the League Cup. Ange Postecoglu registered his first SPFL defeat in the opening game of the season at the hands of the Edinburgh side at the end of July.
There has been a shift in Celtic’s play since that loss and the Hoops have racked up three impressive goal-scoring wins domestically and on the European stage. Celtic’s attacking play looks like it is improving with each passing game.

The Hoops Achilles heel has been in defence now for so long but back to back clean sheets have just been recorded, a real rarity over the past twelve months. The inclusion of the experienced Joe Hart into the team playing dividends already.

With some big games lined up for the remainder of August, there were whispers that the manager would rest some players today for the League Cup and with the teams just announced this is how the Bhoys line up today.

This is probably even a more attacking lineup than we have seen over the last few games with both Eddy and Kyogo on from the start.

Ryan Christie is not named in the matchday squad while James McCarthy could be in line to make a debut from the bench today.

The Hoops are playing to be in the draw for the quarter-finals which takes place following today’s game.
