Celtic will face off against Dundee United in the Scottish Cup on Monday the 14th of March, with the game kicking off at 19:45.

The Hoops were drawn against the Tannadice side after reaching the quarter-final stage of the competition, thanks to a comfortable 4-0 win over Raith Rovers at Celtic Park in the previous round.

Supporters were made to wait for the date of this fixture due to Ange Postecoglou’s side’s involvement in the Europa Conference League. However, after their elimination on Thursday evening, the SFA announced that the sides would face off on Monday the 14th of March.

With the tie also taking place at home for Dundee United, they have announced that Celtic’s usual allocation has been cut, with the United fans being allocated ‘The Shed’ stand, situated behind the goal.

Announcing this decision this afternoon, Dundee United also hit out at the club for their view on the pricing of tickets, with the Celtic board being insistent on the fact tickets must remain about £27.

“Very early on in discussions between the Clubs thereafter on ticket prices, Celtic advised us of the view that they were looking for a price point similar to an SPFL league match between the clubs (£30 adults).

“Celtic confirmed that they would be willing to agree an adult price of no lower than £27 and accept the concession prices of £15 and £10 and reiterated that they would sell their allocation out at this price. Despite our continued efforts to convince them to drop this price further, we were reminded that failure to agree would result in the price being set at normal prices (i.e. £30 for adults).”

It is disappointing that the away allocation has been cut, but also that those at the club weren’t willing to drop the pricing of the Scottish Cup tie.

Clubs such as Motherwell have set a brilliant example, with their fixture against Hibs costing supporters £15 for the quarter-final tie.

Ultimately, with Ange’s side now knocked out of European competition, the focus switches in our attempts to lift both the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish Cup come May.
