HATEM ABD ELHAMED is on his way to sign for a Celtic after Hapoel Be’er Sheva owner Alona Barkat confirmed the defender had said his goodbyes to the club.

The player and his agent have already agreed terms and they will now fly into Glasgow to finalise the deal as Hatem becomes Neil Lennon’s forth summer signing.

That will make it three quarters of Neil Lennon’s signings so far defenders.

Speaking about the transfer, Barkat spoke of her pride the player was moving onto Celtic.

“What I have said to Hatem will remain private between us. But I am the owner of a proud club that our player is going to play in a great team like Celtic.” She told SunSport.

“We are honoured and wish that all of our players fulfil their dreams.”

Hatem can play centre back and right back and he may have to slot in as a full back until Celtic fan find a suitable first team right back.

The player would be able to be registered as a wild card for Celtic’s Champions League tie against Kalju as long as he’s registered as a Celtic player before Tuesday.
