Celtic supporters on their way to Dens Park this afternoon have been treated to a rare sight with a veteran member of the squad returning to the starting 11.

Today’s match does come too early for Daizen Maeda, though, who appears to be in contention for next weekend’s match against Hearts at Celtic Park in an incredible injury recovery turnaround, as he was previously thought to be ruled out for the season.

The only change in the starting 11 is James Forrest, with his impressive substitute appearance last weekend against Aberdeen at Hampden, scoring a goal that showed he certainly does still have something to contribute towards the end of the season.

The Scottish winger will look to continue where he left off, with Brendan Rodgers still clearly a huge fan of Forrest and his wing play.

The Hoops’ back five remains unchanged, with the only question being whether Maik Nawrocki would return to the starting 11 after a disappointing performance from Liam Scales last time out.

However, Rodgers has decided to stick with the Irishman.

Callum McGregor retains his place in midfield, yet another sign that the Celtic captain is one step closer to nearing full fitness, alongside Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley, who are two of the first names on the team sheet.

Kyogo Furuhashi leads the line and is undoubtedly Celtic’s first-choice striker, after previous doubts over his place in the starting 11.

Nicolas Kuhn also starts after scoring last weekend, with James Forrest returning to the starting 11 for the first time since November against St. Mirren at Celtic Park.
