Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic starting 11 to face St Mirren this afternoon at Celtic Park, with the Hoops looking to go four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

With Daizen Maeda and Liam Scales both ruled out of the game with injuries, Rodgers has made two changes, but those two changes may shock some supporters.

Of the two changes, Yang Hyun-jun may appear the most expected, but Maik Nawrocki’s place in the starting 11 comes as more of a surprise, as Stephen Welsh appeared primed to start the game in Scales’ absence.

It is also interesting to note that Yang is also favoured over Luis Palma, with the Honduran’s form in recent months severely deteriorating.

Despite scoring off the bench last weekend against Rangers at Ibrox, Adam Idah is also on the bench and may feel hard done by not to start this afternoon, with Kyogo Furuhashi instead favoured.

The Japanese striker is clearly now first choice in Rodgers’ eyes.

Callum McGregor does not start, with the Celtic captain clearly far from full fitness last weekend.

He will likely play a part off the bench against Stephen Robinson’s side as he looks to regain full fitness.
