Celtic are set to initiate contract negotiations with Liel Abada, one of their most promising young players and likely a key asset in the coming years.

Liel has only started seven league games for the Hoops this season and made another 14 appearances from the bench.

The Hoops winger isn’t a guaranteed starter for Celtic at the moment, but there’s no doubt his potential and performances over the past 18 months warrant a new deal.

If Celtic can tie up the Israeli to a new long term deal he can continue to develop with the club and when the time is right he could leave for big money.

SunSport report Celtic are looking to head off interest in Abada with EPL side Southampton looking at Liel and a couple more Celts.

Ange has said on more than one occasion Celtic need to be aggressive in the way they deal with players. Signing, selling and retaining. Abada is surely someone Ange sees as a big part of his side going forward.
