Celtic are reportedly looking seriously at a live for Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet after his red hit return to Hibernian after a ten month lay off.

The bhoys are assessing their options ahead of the January deadline and according to Derek McGregor of SunSport, Nisbet has impressed Celtic chiefs and Ange Postecoglou.

For the past six weeks, Celtic had been linked with a move for Cho Gue-sung but that deal looks dead with various reports claiming the player is likely hold off any move until the summer.

Celtic know they don’t have much time to waste if they want to get a striker in the door before allowing Giakoumakis to leave the building.

However, signing Nisbet to replace Giakoumakis is certainly not a like for like signing.

Nisbet has been linked with a move to Celtic before. His Hibs form two seasons ago meant chatter about a Parkhead move was inevitable. However, those rumours were never established.

Celtic wouldn’t be in the best bargaining situation with Hibernian knowing the club is set to offload Giakoumakis. Nisbet is contracted to the Easter Road club until 2024.

Let’s see what the next two weeks bring.
