Celtic need a striker this January. The likes of Sydney van Hoiijdonk, Mathias Kvistgaarden, and Bojan Miovski have all been linked at some point or another however at the minute, there seem to be no concrete moves being made.
This comes as a concern for Hoops fans, who are getting growingly frustrated with the lack of recent transfer activity.
Journalist Mark Guidi, though, who is chief football writer at the Sunday Mail, threw a new name into the hat on Monday. On Go Radio’s Football Show, Guidi was speaking about Celtic’s striker situation.
He outlined the usual candidates such as Miovski and van Hooijdonk, but a particular name caught the eye – Danny Ings. Guidi said: “Could it be a short-term thing? Could it be Danny Ings from West Ham? Who knows. That’s where, through your contacts, you have to be creative in the market.”
At David Moyes’ West Ham, Ings has struggled for minutes in the English capital this season. He has been somewhat out of favour yet at 31, still has lots to offer.
His goal record at both Southampton and Burnley was hugely impressive, and he has scored once for England.
Stephen McGowan’s update that Celtic are looking at short-term loans from South of the border coupled with Guidi’s mentioning of Ings is intriguing. One imagines wages would be the only stumbling block of any potential deal, with the Englishman likely on a salary that could be matched by no members of the Celtic squad.
What the he’ll is going on we’re now looking at loans for 31 year OLDs stinks of desperation next we’ll be looking at signings Rangers rejects
Here we go,back there again.Ian Wright,Roy Keane,Robbie Keane,Freddie Ljunberg,Dion Dublin.Washed up Epl players.Thought we had left all that behind.
Another Duff player suggested, we still have McCarthy on the books until 2025, he’s on £14k per week for doing nothing.
Who’s responsible for signing him.
Our recruiting is diabolical.
