David Moyes has thrown his weight behind Celtic being allowed into a new revamped Premier League set up.

The talk of change is in the air but as we all know, talks usually end with nothing.

There’s too many obstacles in the way of Celtic playing their games down south and challenging some of the big guns.

For a start, you would have a lot of people afraid to eat their words if Celtic were given serious money to depend.

The massive draw back for Celtic fans would be the fear of an oligarch or unsavoury regime buying the club because of its status in a new EPL setup.

Celtic fans want the club to be successful but not at the expense of our soul.

Some may argue when we’re watching guys on 30/40kpw playing football and cheering them on then we’re already somewhat away from the values of the club.

Nonetheless, David Moyes believes the idea should be something that’s looked at, speaking to SunSport.

“Reform is needed. The Premier League has a brilliant product, but you hear top clubs talking about too many games.

“So could we have Premier League 1 and Premier League 2?

“Could we have a situation where we do invite Rangers and Celtic to Premier League 2?

“Why can we not unite the UK? Why do we have to be England and Scotland and not unite it?

“Why can it not be a pyramid that allows teams in the Scottish leagues to get into Premier League 2?

“I think more money would filter down if Rangers and Celtic could be given an opportunity to come in.

“We are in Brexit now, we have our country, so why not? Rangers and Celtic would only enhance what is happening in England.”
