Rodgers is due to sign a FIVE-year deal with Celtic on Monday, marking a significant moment in the club’s recent history. For the longest time now, any managers coming into the club, including Brendan, signed 12 month rolling contracts. [The Sun]

The long-term contract will also benefit Celtic if the manager does seek for another move to England in the future.

Hopefully, this won’t be the case, though, and Rodgers can see out his long-term European plan during his contract.

Rodgers, who led Celtic to seven domestic trophies during his previous tenure from 2016 to 2019, is expected to be announced as the club’s new manager early next week, with The Sun reporting that an announcement should come on Monday. This comes after extensive talks with the club’s board and major shareholder Dermot Desmond.

The Northern Irishman’s return to Celtic Park has been the subject of intense speculation over the past few weeks. His appointment is seen as a major coup for the club, given his successful track record and reputation in football management.

Rodgers’ previous stint at Celtic was marked by significant success, including an Invincible season in 2016-17 when the club won the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, and Scottish League Cup without losing a single match.

However, his departure in 2019 to join Leicester City mid-season was met with disappointment and criticism from some sections of the Celtic fan base.

  1. Yes a definite move in the right direction, fed up sick to the teeth of these so called superior clubs highly financed by the tv companies coming up to our so called inferior league and stealing our players and staff for a pittance.
