KRISTOFFER AJER has weighed into Kieran Tierney speculation after it emerged on Friday the Premier League club are trying to land the 21-year-old.
Ajer, who plays alongside Kieran in defence admitted he’s not surprised at the speculation because of the job KT has done over the past few seasons.
“I’m not surprised, KT has been fantastic and has really helped me a lot coming into the group. He’s just a fantastic full-back. It’s just fantastic to play with him.
“He’s a massive Celtic fan so it’s really nice to see. He knows a lot about the club and its history. It’s just nice to see such a big Celtic fan playing for the team.”
Ajer himself made the breakthrough to the first team last season and wants to see Kieran stay to help build a formidable defensive partnership.
“He’s been tremendous for us for us and has proved himself over a number of seasons. Yes of course we are desperate for this group to stay together. KT is an important player in the squad and we want him to stay.”
