SCOTT BROWN’S competitive managerial debut ended in defeat as Fleetwood fell to a 2-1 defeat to Port Vale.

The Celtic legend hung up his boots in the summer after a trophy laden career and took on the role as Fleetwood boss with days of retirement.

Fleetwood took the lead but couldn’t hold onto it, conceding 2 goals in the first half after their early goal. The game finished 2-1 consigning the former Celtic captain to a loss on his debut.

There’s lots of work to be done at Fleetwood but Scott won’t be shying away from it. He’s worked under some top managers and will have his own ideas on how to get the best out of his team.

Broony has high standards and was a leader on and off the pitch at Celtic.

When you become a manager, you have to change your approach in many respects to what you did in your playing days. It will be a process for Broony as he goes through the season. We hope to see him grab his first victory as boss shortly!
