Celtic have announced the signing of Liam Scales subject to international clearance.
The club billed the signing is ‘Hoops to Hoops‘ with Liam signing from Shamrock Rovers who also wear the green and white hoops.
Liam, 23, can play LB, LWB and CB – we’re not sure where Ange Postecoglou sees the player fitting in yet but it’s defensive reinforcements.
The Irishman has signed a four-year deal with the club. The signing has been on the cards for weeks but Celtic we’re happy for Liam to play in Europe for Shamrock rovers before making the deal.
Celtic have work to do before the window closes. Money from the Europa League group stages mean they can now go and get a couple of more players in before Tuesday night’s deadline.
The club is making great strides but we can’t stop – we must be as well prepared for the season ahead.
Liam will likely not be in the squad for Sunday’s derby but will be up to speed by the time the international break is over.
He can play LB, LWB and CB just the type of player we need but now the hard work starts can he get in the team….
