On the face of it, Arthur Cabral sealing a €14.5m move to Fiorentina has nothing much to do with Celtic.
However, the deal announced by top transfer guru Fabrizio Romano could have implications for the Hoops as Basel seek a replacement for their striker.
Cabral was brought into Basel to replace Albian Ajeti when he made his move to West Ham.
Now the club has sold their prized asset for a large fee, they will now be looking to reinvest some of that cash for a new goalscorer.
The club knows all about Albian Ajeti and it was at Basel the striker last had any sort of form.

As the window comes to a close, and Basel look around at their options, we’d be very surprised if Albian wasn’t on their radar.
If they see value in a return for the player, Celtic would be more than receptive to moving the frontman on.
The only issue would be Ajeti’s fitness, he has been carrying an injury for the past month and we’re not sure how far the striker is away from full fitness.
The move could suit all parties if Basel wants to play ball.
