Celtic are getting closer and closer to the end of the season.

We keep using the word rebuild with little to show for it at the moment. The club have been silent on what’s next.

What we do know has come from external sources outwith the club who have either gained information from sources inside Celtic Park or from players and agents around the team.

John McGarry of the Daily Mail was on The Huddle Podcast on Tuesday afternoon discussing Celtic’s potential transfer fees for players.

One man who inevitably came up in that conversation was Odsonne Edouard. Despite the Frenchman having a poor season for the bhoys, he is still our top goalscorer and has done well away from the club for the France under 21 side.

McGarry believes that’s enough to drive the fee up for the player, especially because Leicester are still very keen on the Hoops frontman.

“Despite the fact that he’s not had a good season, Leicester being the club keenest on him is significant

“Brendan Rodgers knows what he can do, and there does seem to be other clubs, the likes of Roma interested as well

“I think there will be enough interest to drive the fee probably £20m and upwards”

Eddy will be in the final year of his deal come July and at which point he wants his move and the club want to recoup as much money as possible.

There’s a sell-on clause built into the deal that means PSG will get a cut of any fee but the club still stand to make a profit on their £9m if McGregor’s estimations are correct.

In an ideal world, we would sign Eddy on a long term deal and get him properly firing again but the player doesn’t see his future in Glasgow.
