CELTIC have wrapped up their training camp in Portugal with a bounce game against Rennes.

The Hoops lined up as follows:

Hart, Ralston, Starfelt, Jenz, Taylor, McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley, Abada, Jota and Kyogo.

Taking kick-off, the Bhoys found themselves training in the Algarve after just a minute, with Rennes striker Martin Terrier scoring from a ball played into the box from a corner.

Celtic dusted themselves down and got back into the match, pulling themselves level after 18 minutes. Matt O’Riley found some space in the box before curling it into the back of the net.

But the French side responded within a couple of minutes, putting themselves back in front.

Seven minutes later, they doubled their lead. Exploiting the space left by Celtic, Rennes netted their third goal of the match.

Not long after, Rennes scored from another corner, making the match 4-1. Jenz was far too deap after the short corner was taken, playing a few players onside without markers.

As it looked like the game had slipped away from Celtic, Kyogo lobbed the keeper, bringing Celtic back into the match.

As halftime was looming, Matt O’Riley grabbed his second of the afternoon, making it 4-3 to the French side. Celtic caught the opposition on the transition before the Danish player found himself unmarked on the edge of the box.

The second half lacked the action from the first, with the many subs killing the intensity and flow. Celtic hit the bar in the second 45, but that was about as much as happened.

The Hoops will now return to Lennoxtown to prepare for their trip to Aberdeen on Saturday.

What we learned

Callum McGregor is fit and looking good ahead of the football restart.

A Celtic defence without CCV is shaky!

Matt O’Riley further up the pitch will be a game changer in the second half of the season.
