Tranmere Rovers has announced the PERMANENT signing of Lee O’Connor on a two and half year deal on Tuesday morning.

The Irish international came into Celtic from Manchester Utd with a big reputation but never made a first team appearance for the club.

Lee was signed on the same day as Jeremie Frimpong. The Dutch right back, came in, played for Celtic’s first team and won a €12m move to the Bundesliga, and played against Celtic in the time Lee has been toiling at the club.

Sent out on loan several times, Celtic fans thought there might be a new beginning for some of the young bhoys at the club. However, Ange Postecoglou is clearly happy to let Lee go.

Celtic have already moved on Ewan Henderson in this window after the midfielder was told he was surplus to requirements.

We expect some more movement out of Celtic Park before the end of January.
