Celtic’s hopes of securing Argentine midfielder Fausto Vera have been significantly boosted as Ange Postecoglou carries on the search for a new midfielder.

The Brazilian team have since pulled out of a deal, not wishing to be involved in a bidding war, according to reports in Brazil. Genk also had their approach knocked back.

Celtic may look to structure an offer in a similar way to the Carter-Vickers and Jota deals, in a try before you buy. The Argintinian club are demanding a fee of £5.5 million. It’s unlikely Celtic will fork out such a fee after already spending big on players like Jota and Carter-Vickers.

Celtic Still to Table a Bid

Celtic is thought to hold a significant interest in the player, but a bid is yet to be tabled. If Celtic are as keen as reports suggest, an offer should be made in the coming days or risk watching the player join another club and continue their search for a midfielder.
