Celtic Women’s midfielder Anna Filbey has sent her thank yous to the club’s staff, players and fans as her spell at the club comes to an end.
Filbey spent the second half of the season on loan at the Hoops and played a key part in Fran Alonso’s side’s late push for the title and securing a Champions League place.
The 21-year old midfielders contract came to an end with Tottenham Hotspur announcing that she would be departing the North London side. This left some fans with hope that she may sign on a permanent basis with the club.
However, taking to Instagram to issue her thanks and goodbyes, it doesn’t look like we will see a return to the club for Filbey.
Next season will be a historic campaign for the Women’s side as they enter the Champions League for the first time.
Alonso will have been looking to add some more quality to his squad and will now need to replace Filbey as they prepare for next season.
