Celtic defender Liam Scales has been announced in the League of Ireland’s team of the ear for his performances at Shamrock Rovers this season.
The Irishman joined the Hoops from the Irish League winners in the summer, reportedly putting in some impressive performances for his former side in domestic and European action.
He is also joined in the team of the year by another former Celtic player, in Liam Burt, who now plays his football with Bohemian FC.

His displays over in Ireland looked to have prompted the club into making a move for the left-back, who has had few opportunities in Ange Postecoglou’s side so far this campaign, with his appearances coming off the bench.
He has found the likes of Greg Taylor, Adam Montgomery, Josip Juranovic and even the lesser-seen Boli Bolingoli ahead of him in the pecking order in that position.
This transfer feels like a bit of a bizarre move at this stage in time, given how much he has featured in the side so far.
Of course, there is still time for him to turn his fortunes around with how early Scales is into his Celtic career.
But, he will be hoping to get more game time soon in a busy period of fixtures for the Hoops, especially with Greg Taylor returning soon, who will likely be seen as first choice by Ange.
