Ivorian midfielder Eboue Koussi was once former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers first-ever January signing with the Hoops when he completed a winter move from Krasnodar.
Now, he finds himself playing his football in the Portuguese league with F.C. Arouca, on loan from permanent club Gent – where he completed a move away from the Hoops to join.
This evening, the 23-year old scored a late equaliser as his current side looked to avoid a cup shock against lower league side Leca.

However, despite pulling the game back level late on with the Ivorians goal, Arouca went on to be defeated in a penalty shoot-out to the disappointment of Kouassi and his teammates.
This is a fate which the young midfielder didn’t suffer once during his time as a Celtic player. Despite not making many appearances, he was part of the squads, which did not lose a cup fixture under Rodgers.
Fair play to Kouassi, though, for heading out on loan and trying to get his career kickstarted in Portugal once again. It will be interesting to see where he goes from here.
