Former Celtic academy graduate Jack Aitchison has completed a move on loan to English League 2 side Forest Green Rovers.

The promising striker came through the Hoops academy and made a brilliant early impression, scoring on his first appearance for the club after coming on as a sub in a 7-0 over Motherwell.

In doing that, Aitchison also broke a club record and became the youngster ever scorer.

From there, the 21-year old unfortunately wasn’t able to kick on after several spells out on loan at sides such as Dumbarton and Alloa Atheltic.

This isn’t his first spell out on loan at the unique League 2 side either, spending his final year as a Hoops player out with Forest Green in the 2019/20 season.

He is also joined by another former academy player at his new side, with Regan Hendry recently completing a move to Rovers from Scottish Championship side Raith.

Aitchison will be looking to set a good impression and have a successful campaign before returning to the English Championship side Barnsley, going into the final year of his deal there next summer.
