Former Celtic midfielder and current Killie coach Massimo Donati has been speaking ahead of his former side taking on Lazio on Thursday night and believes Celtic Park is the game changer.

Donati knows himself better clubs can come to Celtic Park and be washed away by a team with real heart playing in front of 60,000 supporters.

Massimo scored a very late winner against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League back in the day and sent Celtic Park into the stratosphere.

With Lazio coming to town and the game under the lights in the Europa league on Thursday night we could be in for another special game.

Donati spoke to the Italian press ahead of the game and believes Celtic’s style is much changed since Brendan Rodgers left at the start of the year. The player claiming the team is more aggressive under Neil Lennon.

Massimo believes Lazio are the better side but won’t write off Celtic on the night.

“Scottish football is very different from Italian football. The games here are played at 100 miles per hour and tactics are often overlooked.” Donati told an Italian Radio Station as cited by RecordSport.

“Celtic had a more international style under Brendan Rodgers, but Neil Lennon has them back playing in a more ‘Scottish’ way.

“They are a very strong and aggressive team.

“Edouard is a very good player, he’s talented and very physical. Lazio should also pay attention to James Forrest who is a fast, technical winger who could put them in danger.

“And Ryan Christie is in great form. He is playing well and scoring with regularity.

“However, defensively they can give you chances and that is their weak point in my opinion.

“Lazio are stronger, but Celtic Park is a huge advantage for them. Lazio will need character, they will need to win their individual duels and they have to focus on being technically superior.

“For me, Lazio have been too inconsistent this season and they could do with a good run in the Europa League.”
