The 41-year-old has been working alongside Brendan Rodgers for the past years and will now take the plunge into management himself having signed a three and a half-year deal at the English side.
Touré’s coaching journey can be traced back to his time at Celtic with the former Arsenal Invincible making the switch to Glasgow as a player in 2016 before calling time on his playing career at the end of the season.
It was the second time that he became an invincible as Rodgers side went on to win an invincible treble which was the perfect way to end his career.

Firstly, he joined his national team as a coach having made 120 appearances for the Ivory Coast as a player and then joined Brendan Rodgers backroom staff at Celtic in September 2017 alongside Chris Davies and Glen Driscoll.
Touré latterly departed the Scottish champions with Rodgers in February 2019 with him being part of the coaching set up at Leicester City since.
He has plenty of experience in the game which he can take into the job at Wigan with the club currently sitting two places above the bottom of the table.
