Former Celtic defender Jack Hendry is reportedly set to complete his second move of the summer to Belgian league side Club Brugge.

According to journalist Craig Hope, the Scottish defender who has been a target of several clubs, including English Premier League side Newcastle United is now set to make a move to Brugge.

Last campaign Hendry spent the season in Belgium with Oostende, rejuvenating his career and impressing abroad.

This led to Oostende making the deal permanent, and they have now instantly cashed in on the 26-year old, with reports suggesting a fee of £4 million will be paid, meeting the release clause in his contract.

If reports are to be believed, Celtic sold the defender for around £1.5 million, with Oostende having that option to buy in their loan deal last season.

So hearing the news that Hendry will be moved on once more for more money might frustrate some behind the scenes at Parkhead, with the chance that the Hoops could have received a better fee for the defender.

Hendry will also be playing Champions League football this season with this move, against some of the top sides in the world, such as Manchester City and PSG.

  1. That is what happens when a manager does not see you in his plans well done Jack Hendry you are a player we all could see it in you time was not on your side at Celtic now go make your name for yourself at your new club and for Scotland.

  2. Never really got a chance, like a few others due to poor man-management. Was also the whipping bhoy for sections of the support. Starfelt has taken on this role. Ralston filled in before Starfelt. It is very hard to shake this. Hopefully Starfelt does and goes on to be a player for us. But I am not hopeful. I fail to see how booing every touch your own player makes is supposed to encourage better performances.
