Former Celtic midfielder Oliver Ntcham, who was let go by the club this summer, could be coming closer to finding a new club as ‘discussions open’ with English Championship side Swansea.

According to French journalist Benjamin Quarez, there is no deal in place as of yet, but discussions are underway over the Frenchman making a possible move to the French.

Ntcham had a bright start to life as a Celtic player, joining from Manchester City in the 2017/18 season.

There were reports of interest from sides such as Porto, with fees of £10 million+ being suggested at one stage.

However, in the past 12 months, his Hoops career went downhill under former manager Neil Lennon, which led to him spending the second half of last season with Marseille, where he failed to make an impact.

It came as a surprise to some to see the 25-year old let go on a free by the club, with the hope that his career could possibly be rejuvenated under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

The Frenchman has talent, and he put that on show at times with Celtic, but ultimately it wasn’t seen enough.

Fingers crossed, for the sake of his career, he can get a move over the line soon and kickstart it before going on to show what he is capable of.
