Oli Burke is on the move again as Werder Bremen prepares to offload him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

This development marks yet another chapter in Burke’s somewhat nomadic football career, which has seen him play for multiple clubs across Europe.

Burke, who is returning to Werder Bremen after an unsuccessful loan spell at Birmingham City, is unlikely to remain with the German club. Birmingham City’s relegation to League One following the loan has only compounded the challenges facing Burke as he seeks stability in his professional career. Reports from Deichstube indicate that the 27-year-old forward will be looking for his twelfth club this summer.

The Scottish international’s career has been marked by frequent transfers and varying degrees of success. Despite his potential, evidenced by his pace, power, and tenacity, Burke has often struggled to make a lasting impact.

His stint at Celtic during the loan spell in the second half of the 2018/19 season showcased some of his capabilities, as he played through the middle and on the right and initially impressed with his performances. However, inconsistencies in his game and a lack of finishing touch were evident as he got more minutes.

Burke’s time at Celtic was a mixed bag; he scored four goals in nineteen appearances, contributing to the club’s historic ‘Treble Treble’ achievement. However, following the departure of Brendan Rodgers and the arrival of Neil Lennon, Burke found his opportunities limited, leading to further uncertainty about his role.
