JACK AITCHISON’s Forest Green Rovers have earned automatic promotion to League 1 after their draw against Briston Rovers secured a top-three finish.

The season isn’t over yet for the youngest ever player to play for the Celtic team. His team are top of the table, just three points above Exeter. There are three games yet to play in England’s fourth division, and Jack will be hoping to add to his five goals and three assists before the season ends.

On the final game of the 15/16 season, the highly-rated academy graduate was handed his Celtic debut. He scored with his first touch, becoming Celtic’s youngest ever goalscorer at 16 years, 2 months and 10 days.

He was also the first player born in the 21st century to score for the Parkhead club.

When Brendan Rodgers took over at Celtic, Aitchison was loaned to lower league clubs. Failing to make an impact here, he was loaned to Forest Green, where he managed to get consistent minutes and find the back of the net a few times. After his loan expired with the English side, he returned to Stevenage.

He left Celtic and joined Barsnely, where he was shipped off immediately to Stevenage. After a season on loan there, he rejoined Forest Green Rovers on loan. His loan will expire in the coming months. With just one year left on his Barnsley contract, he may look for a permanent move away from the club. It’s a big summer ahead for the 22-year-old.
