Dundee United have confirmed the signing of former Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew. Returning 15 years after his first spell with the Arabs, Mulgrew is new Boss Tam Courts’ first signing.

The club announced the signing of Mulgrew, who is capped 44 times for Scotland, this afternoon – confirming the player has signed a two-year deal at the club. Dundee United, who were the newest addition to Scotlands top league last season, will look to improve upon their 9th place finish.

Mulgrew will look to add experience to Dundee United’s relatively young team. In his time at Parkhead, the now 35-year-old won five leagues and two Scottish Cups and a League Cup, as well as Scottish PFA player of the year and SPL player of the year.

After completing a free transfer to Glasgow in 2010, Mulgrew left Celtic after playing 203 games and scoring 29 goals to join Blackburn Rovers on another free transfer.

We wish him all the best with Dundee Utd but not when it comes to games against Celtic!
